According to its master developer, Ferrari World theme park in Abu Dhabi will have two additional rides built before the end of this year. The theme park will now include five rollercoasters in all, two of which will be inside attractions. According to Mohammed Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral Asset Management, the first ride would debut in the summer and the second by the year’s end.

Al Zaabi stated that four more rides, all geared toward kids, will be added to Ferrari World’s repertoire , bringing the total number of rides to 39 by the end of that year. Ferrari World’s fourth phase of development, will result in a total of 43 rides. According to Al Zaabi, the first three phases will oversee and develop a number of government properties in Abu Dhabi, notably Yas Island, which has undergone a 40% redevelopment to become a major destination for entertainment, shopping, and leisure.
It is the first of its kind to have a water park.
It already houses the Yas Marina Circuit, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Yas Mall, the Yas Waterworld, and Ferrari World. New attractions such as Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and the Middle East’s first SeaWorld marine life park are scheduled respectively. And, according to Al Zaabi, Yas Waterworld will have a new 29-seat 5D theatre this year, the first of its kind for a waterpark in the region.
According to the CEO, Yas Island is aiming for 48 million visitors by 2023, up from 25 million in 2015, the most recent year for which numbers are available. An aerial cable car network to transport guests around the island is another prospective development idea for the island. Al Zaabi told Arabian Business that discussions were ongoing with SkyTran, a California-based company that has created an elevated, personal rapid transit (PRT) system capable of ferrying people to various locations at fast speeds and with low environmental damage. In 2016, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding to investigate ideas for a PRT on Yas Island. The CEO also revealed Yas Waterworld plans, saying, “We are introducing a new attraction to Yas.”
Adventure with family and friends
Guests looking for more adrenaline-pumping action can try the new zip line, which takes them from the park’s heart outside and through the Flying Aces roller coaster loop. Those searching for an adventure with family and friends should not miss the dual racing challenge on the zip line. In addition to these two new attractions, the theme park opened a kid-friendly new family zone earlier this year, complete with miniature versions of four of the park’s most popular rides: the ultra-fast Formula Rossa rollercoaster, the Turbo Tower rollercoaster, a Speedway Race, and the Flying Wings ride.
Red roof and enjoy stunning
Aside from the 400-meter zip line and Roof Walk activities that will take visitors to new heights, there is also a Family Zone developed exclusively for families with children. Kids will now be able to enjoy unprecedented thrills similar to the adult visitor experience at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, thanks to four cutting-edge miniature replicas of the park’s most iconic and record-breaking attractions. Among the attractions offered to young champions will be the Turbo Tower, Speedway Race, Flying Wings, and Formula Rossa Junior.
In addition, for the first time in the theme park’s history, guests will be able to scale the famed red roof this year, as well as experience the thrill of a zip line, adding to the theme park’s record-breaking and adrenaline-filled thrills. Individual tickets for each activity will be available in addition to regular admission tickets to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
